What are your UK Pharmacy options?

You may be aware that as of June 30th 2006, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB) passed changes in the Reciprocal agreement between Australian/ New Zealand and the United Kingdom. These changes introduced a 12 month Overseas Pharmacist Assessment Program (OSPAP) to be followed by 12 months pre–registration placement and a final registration exam in order to practice as a Pharmacist in the UK.

RSG can assist with the following options for Australian and New Zealand Pharmacists:

1. RPSGB Registered Pharmacists: A variety of locum and permanent positions throughout the United Kingdom in both the NHS (National Health System) and Private Hospitals, as well as 12 month contracts in Community Pharmacy. Should you require assistance in restoring your name to the RPSGB register due to a lapse in membership please let us know and a consultant will forward through the appropriate paperwork to you.
2. Australian/ NZ Registered Pharmacists & Pharmacy Technicians: Missed out on RPSGB registration? To enable your working holiday we have contracts throughout the UK for Hospital Pharmacy Technicians which provide a more flexible working environment for your travels through locum or longer term positions and great hourly rates! Currently you are not required to register with the RPSGB as a Pharmacy Technician.

Requirements to work in the UK:

• Registration with the RPSGB (Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain)
• 12 months experience as a registered Pharmacist or 12 months experience as a Pharmacy Technician
